A face appears as a smear of pixels and slowly sharpens. How few pixels do you need to know who it is?
How it works
Every round shows one photo of a well-known person, heavily pixelated. Type the name — spelling is forgiving. Stuck? Reveal the next stage and the picture sharpens. There are five stages in total; the earlier you get it, the more points you keep.
Modes
Endless is one face after another — build the longest streak you can and land it on the leaderboard. Rising Round steps through five difficulty bands, and Marathon is a fixed run you can play alone or live against a lobby of friends.
About the people and photos
The lineup favours faces you would recognise from a photo, not just names you have heard. All images come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, with full credit shown in the game.

How does the reveal work?
The photo is shown at a very low resolution and gets sharper in five steps. Name the person early for full points; each extra step and each wrong guess costs you.
Who is in the game?
Around 370 widely recognised people — mostly photographed public figures, plus a hand-picked set of historical icons with genuinely iconic portraits.
Where do the photos come from?
Wikimedia Commons, each under a free licence (CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA or public domain). Author and licence are shown on every image behind an info button.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. There is a single-player endless mode and a Marathon mode you can run solo or in a live lobby of up to five.
Is it free and account-free?
